Welcome to Bilingual Rock Immersion School! 

BRIS is the pioneer in Chinese Language immersion studies in the Greater Chicago area. We are glad you chose to learn more about our school.

Being of Chinese heritage, I am thankful to have had the opportunity to study abroad here in the United States. This has enabled me to be fluent in both the Chinese and English language. I see the benefits of being bilingual in all aspects of my life, and I desire to pass on this advantage to my daughter, my son and all children. 

This is my dream - to open an innovative school that would give children the gift of bilingualism in order to expand their ability to communicate and widen their perspective of the world. Educational research confirms that learning in two languages results in cognitive stretching that reshapes a child's thinking and enhances their problem-solving skills. Children become more flexible and more creative and, as a result, increase their learning capacity.

What makes us unique? I believe it starts with our commitment to value each and every student as an individual. At BRIS, we value active inquiry, celebrate curiosity, and engage students in the wonder of learning. We aim not only for the highest standards in everything we do but also for our students to reach their highest personal potential, enabling them to confidently take risks and navigate the world. Our instructional strategies are based on extensive research and experience supported by strong teacher development, modeling and coaching. We also look outside our school to learn about the latest in best practice, and to discover new ideas and different ways of learning in order to benefit our students.
