Preschool Mandarin/Spanish Immersion Summer Camp

Like our full-time preschool, our summer camp employs a full immersion approach to learning, allowing for language acquisition and exposure to academic and culture.

Through fun and play-based learning, the student-centered curriculum is designed to build school readiness skills while fostering curiosity, creativity and confidence. Teachers use music, movement, arts and crafts to engage learning, character development and social skills.

Who Is It For? Children who are interested in learning Mandarin/Spanish language skills through fun, immersion-based activities. No prior Mandarin/Spanish skills are needed.

Age? 15 months - 5 years old

Where? 1660 Checker Rd, Long Grove, IL (Hope Lutheran Church)

When? The camp will be held in 2 monthly sessions between June 10 – August 2.

Session 1: June 10—July 5 (NO class on July 4)

Session 2: July 8 — August 2


Camp Fee

  • Registration Fee: $25 (23-24 or 24-25 school year preschool students waived)


Session 1 (6/10-7/5)

A Bug’s Life 昆虫世界

We are going to teach our future entomologists all about insects.The campers will learn about the life of a bug. We will focus on the lifecycle of different kinds of bugs, how they lay eggs, hatch and grow, the kinds of food they eat, how they reproduce and multiply. We will also learn about the role bugs play in the ecosystem, from cycling nutrients, pollination, dispersing seeds, maintaining soil structure to controlling populations of other organisms, decomposition and maintenance of wildlife species. We will touch on various types of bugs including silkworms, bees, butterflies, ants, and many more!

Soarin’ Around the World 环游世界

Campers will embark on an adventure focusing on Sydney Harbor, the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, Iguazu Falls, Neuschwanstein Castle, the Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal, etc. We will also learn about their culture, language, and geography. Campers will learn how eating habits and nutrition differ around the world. We will also share our creative creations with one another in our mini “world food festival”.

session 2 (7/8-8/2)

Olympics 奥林匹克 

Campers will “dive” into the Summer Olympics in Paris 2024! We will explore the history of the Olympics, learn about the Olympic Rings and flames. We will make our own Olympic torch, Olympic medals, Olympic wreath, etc. Campers will create their own summer olympics learning about teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun, competitive environment!

STEAM 玩转理工与艺术

Campers will explore STEAM topics (science, technology, engineering, art and math).

Coding Lego Maze, Crystal Sun Catchers, “Tie-Dye" Pillows, Cloud in a Jar, Perler Bead Arrays, Color Mixing Spin Top, Jellybean Building, and Potato Battery.

Campers will also explore famous art pieces found all around the world, the stories behind them, and the techniques the artists used. What is the story behind Van Gogh’s The Starry Night? From Piet Mondrian’s suncatchers to Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, children look at the pieces and brainstorm the different things and patterns they see.
